“For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” -Matthew 18:20
Why Prayer for Healing?
We believe that God heals and that God desires healing for everyone, in one form or another. God loves us more than anyone else and He has the power to give us whatever we need. God always hears and answers our prayers; sometimes in unexpected ways, sometimes by deferring an answer, but always by answering. Each of us, at some time in our life, may need healing in one or more different areas.
Our healing prayer ministers are mature Christians who have been specifically trained for this ministry.
There are times in our lives when each of us is in need of prayer. How fortunate we are to have prayer teams within our parish on a weekly basis to listen, to affirm, and to pray for our concerns with privacy and confidentiality. Feel free to drop in or to recommend prayer ministry to your family or friends who might be going through a difficult time.
“I give my assurance, whatever you ask the Father, he will give you in my name.” John 16:23
How?
Persons desiring prayer ministry may come to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2617 Cedar Street after the 8:30 and 11:30am Sunday Mass. Prayer Ministry is also available at Immaculate Conception Church, 2501 Hoyt Avenue on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month after the 10:00am Mass
Our Hospitality minister will direct you to a prayer team which is usually comprised of two prayer ministers. Upon learning why the person is seeking prayer, the team will pray with the supplicant in a quiet, non-invasive way. The prayer time will last about ten minutes.
Our goal is to help each person experience God’s Love. Prayer ministry is confidential.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”
John 14:12, 13, 14
